Too many squashes

This is a true story.
PLEASE look up all the words you don't know.

“What are we going to do with all these squashes?” asked Aisha.
“I love squash,” answer Dad but this is crazy!  We have so many!”
In May, Aisha and her dad planted six small plants. Now, 2 months later, there were big squashes everywhere.
“Let's give two squashes to each of our village neighbors,” said Dad.
“Even to the neighbors who aren't so friendly?” asked Aisha.
      “Especially to them!” answered Dad.
So Aisha picked the squash and went off to give them to the neighbors.  They were
still warm from the sun and felt wonderful in her arms.
The next day a grandmother came to the door with a large baking pan.
“Salaam,” said Aisha. “Do you need something, Grandmother?”
“No,” she said. “I came to give you a baked squash. It is old family recipe. I wanted to thank you for the vegetables you gave us. I had enough to make two recipes.”
That day all neighbors came to thank Aisha's family. They each brought their own favorite squash recipe. There was squash salad, squash soup, and even squash bread. The bread was made with sugar, raisins, and walnuts.
Dad smiled and said, “Look at all this food!  Let's have a picnic!”
     Aisha smiled happily.
That day all the neighbors felt kindness for each other and had a happy time.
After they left, Dad winked at Aisha and said, “You can never have too many vegetables or too many neighbors!”
